Domestic and sexual violence don’t only occur during "regular business hours."  Victims/Survivors of abuse of any kind must have access to the information and support needed to make the most appropriate choices for themselves and their families, day or night, especially when in crisis. – WISE Volunteer

 
2012 Volunteer Training Dates!


Spring 2012

  • March 13 - April 19 (must complete entire course)
    • Tuesday and Thursday evenings 6-8:30pm
    • + Saturday, March 31
  • May Weekends (must complete both weekends)
    • May 12 & 13; 19 & 20
    • 8:30 am - 4:30 pm

The WISE 24-hour, toll free crisis line is available to victims and survivors of domestic and sexual violence and stalking, thanks to our empathetic and dedicated volunteer advocates who respond to calls every hour, every day. In preparation for staffing the crisis line, WISE offers an interactive 30-hour training covering the dynamics and realities of domestic and sexual violence, active listening, supportive advocacy, empowerment and more! Help us make the Upper Valley a more peaceful place.

The mission of WISE is to empower victims of domestic and sexual violence and stalking to become safe and self-reliant through crisis intervention and support services. WISE advances social justice through community education, training and public policy.

WISE provides services to victims/survivors of sexual violence, domestic violence and stalking regardless of gender or gender identity/expression, age, health status (including HIV-positive), physical, mental or emotional ability, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, race, national origin, immigration status, or religious or political affiliation.
